Above is Hedychium ‘Dr. Moy’ which has a beautiful scent. Nice variegated leaves too.

April 17 & 18, OFE April Sale, Homestead, FL. The sale is small but very nice as it attracts many local growers, who sell orchids, bromeliads, ariods, and occasionally a few rare palms, if Nature Trapesty participates. Free admission and parking.

April 25 & 26, Spring Sale, Mounts Botanical Gardens, West Palm Beach, FL. If a plant can be grown in South Florida, you’ll likely find it here. From their website: “Shop a wide variety of rare, exotic, and hard-to-find orchids, plants, trees, herbs, ornamentals, succulents, cactus, bonsai, butterfly/native plants, shrubs, and fruit trees, as well as garden accessories, baskets, fine crafts, and more.” Plus the garden is always a joy to stroll through.

May 1, 2 and 3. Rare Plant and Orchid Sale, Fair Expo Center, Miami, FL. Tremendous selection of orchids, aroids and other plants. Highly recommended. Opens of Friday, May 1.

May 2 & 3, Plant Affair, Volunteer Park, Plantation, From site: Herbs, native plants, rare palms, bromeliads and garden art.

May 15, 16 and 17. Orchid Circus, OFE International. Ok, no elephants or clowns. Just a big tent with many local vendors. Orchids, aroids, bromeliads and other plants. A small sale, but very nice.

May 16 & 17, Annual Spring Sale, Fairchild Botanic Tropical Garden, Coral Gables, FL. From site: “Guests can shop Fairchild-grown species, rare and specialty plants, and a curated selection from trusted local growers, alongside containers, garden merchandise, books, and practical resources that make it easy to plant, care for, and live with what they choose.” It is likely they will post a list of plants for sale prior to the sale.
