October 11, Fall Palm and Cycad Sale, Palm Beach Palm and Cycad Society, Mounts Botanical Garden, West Palm Beach. Excellent sale. Advise coming early for the best selection. Closes promptly at 3:00 pm.

October 11-12, Orchids in October, Fairchild Garden, Coral Gables, FL,

October 17-19, Redland International Orchid Festival, Fruit and Spice Park, Redland. From site: “Join the best orchid growers in the world along with fellow avid orchid fans for three days of pure orchid mania.” Vendors sell other small ornamental plants too. Great to wander through the park as well. See site for details.

October 25-26, OFE Sale Fair, Homestead. Many local growers, very friendly sale.

October 25, Fall Plant Sale and Orchid Show, Kanapaha Botanic Garden, Gainesville. I know Gainesville is not in South Florida, but it is such a beautiful garden, and they have several plant sales during the year, including a spring sale.

Nov 8-9, Fall Palm Show and Sale, South Florida Palm Society, Fairchild Botanic Tropical Garden, Coral Gables. I might be a wee bit biased on this sale, because I am the current president of SFPS. The sale will feature common and hard-to-find palms and cycads. Growers can share with you valuable advice. Also, our local artist, Linda Apriletti will be offering her beautiful paintings of palms in their natural setting. Palm tours on Saturday and Sunday. Also see Fairchild Garden link.

Nov 8-9, A Tropical Plant Fair, Equality Garden Club, Richardson State Park, Wilton Manors, FL. Plant Vendors, Garden Supplies, Food/Drink, Master Gardeners, Plant Societies and More. Will post more details when available.

November 9, 50th Annual Fall Sale, Rare Fruit and Vegetable Council of Broward County. SW Ranches, FL. Really excellent selection of different tropical and subtropical fruit and spice trees. The plants for sale are listed on their website.

November 10, Annual Bromeliad Auction, Indian River Bromeliad Society, Vero Beach, FL. From brochure, “Easy to grow, exotic and beautiful plants and bromeliad related items to bid on.” Doors open 6:30 pm with auction at 7:00 pm.

Nov 14-16, OFE Orchid Circus, Homestead. Will provide more details when available. OFE excels at supplying everything your orchids and other plants need to be happy.

Nov 22-23, Autumn Garden Festival, Edison and Ford Winter Estates, Ft. Myers. From their site: Our annual Autumn Garden Festival will feature garden vendors with exotic and native plants and trees for sale, in addition to food trucks and live music. Vendors will have many types of plants and trees, including air plants, bromeliads, butterfly plants, cacti, fruit trees, herbs, hibiscus, orchids, palms, succulents, and many hard-to-find species. The Garden Shoppe will be open and have unusual tropical and Florida native plants that thrive in Southwest Florida. Ceramic flowerpots, vegetable and flower seeds, garden art, and gardening gift items will also be available for purchase. A limited number of garden carts will be available, so guests are encouraged to bring a cart or wagon for transporting plants. A designated plant holding tent and loading spot will be offered for anyone needing assistance. Parking and admission to the festival is free (tours, museum and lab are not included).
