This beautiful orchid is mounted in a small orchid pot, and hanging from bamboo stick. I wanted it to hang away from the oak tree so it could get sunlight on all sides. Looks like it worked. There is just one species in this Seidenfadenia genus. The leaves hang down together with the roots. Native to Thailand and Myanmar.
The care is very similar to Vandas, which means strong sunlight at least for part of the day and regular fertilizing. It bloomed despite only occasional fertilizing.

For those going to Plant-a-Palooza at Mounts tomorrow, the sale closes at 3:00 pm but the garden closes at 4:00 pm.
The International Aroid Festival will be on September 16-17 at Fairchild.
Happy Gardening,
Dave
