The Musa haekkinenii is absolutely a stunning beautiful ornamental banana plant. It is very rare in horticulture. I purchased one from Fairchild Gardens in their virtual sale. The image above is from their website, and I have seen the flowers growing in their conservatory. I just brought my plant home and trying to decide exactly where to plant it. I’ve read that good drainage is essential. The fruit is inedible. This plant comes from northern Vietnam.
I do not, in general, post images of plants or flowers which are not in my garden. I plan to replace this image as soon as my plant gives flowers. This may happen later in the year.
I have updated the list of plant shows in March and April. Click on the link at the top of the home page. Some very exciting events are coming soon. If anyone is aware of a plant sale I missed, please let me know through the contact form. I appreciate suggestions.
