This is a picture of the first fruit pod of my cacao tree.  I’ve had flowers on the tree, but never fruit. There are yellow and red varieties.    It is getting tall, so I’m going to cut the highest branch, and hope this doesn’t stop it from making more pods.   I’ve seen pictures of trees laden down with pods, but I think  this is the exception.   Part of the my  problem is our soil is alkaline, and I use chlorinated tap water, not a great combination.
